Answers to your burning questions

Here’s a presentation on what ecoCampLondon is all about. It’s a quick read and very helpful. All you need for ecoCamp is great motivation so make sure you bring that!

ecoCamp@World

All the discussions of ecoCampLondon will be collected in a document called ecoCamp@World.

When we run ecoCamp in Italy we did it by asking the promoter of the session to fill in a template summarizing the conclusions.

As we are a BarCamp and we want to give a Web 2.0 flavour to the event we decided to use Twitter to do that.

We will use LiveTwitting.com

How does it work?

– Every attendee needs to follow either @livetwitting or @livet
– There are very simple commands to learn

FUNCTION	COMMAND
To start livetwitting	d livetwitting ON Name or ID of Conference # Session Title Example: d livetwitting ON BlogWorld 2008 # Keynote Example: d livetwitting ON 25 # Keynote
To record your notes	Just type away! Every status update will be recorded until you turn it off. You can send direct messages (d livetwitting your notes) if you don’t want to share your livetwitting with your followers.
To mark a segment with a Topic name (optional)	d livetwitting TOPIC Name of Topic
To mark a speaker (optional)	d livetwitting SPEAKER Speaker’s Name
To mark a Question & Answer segment (optional)	d livetwitting QA
To pause recording (i.e. to say hi to someone else)	d livetwitting PAUSE
To resume recording (after a pause command)	d livetwitting RESUME
To end livetwitting	d livetwitting OFF

We will give a Twitter name to each session so it will be very easy for you to tag it appropriately.

If you already use twitter during events this will be very easy for you. If not start exploring it right now and get ready for the event. We are here, so shout if you are not sure about how to use it.

Sabato mattina inizieremo a trasmettere dalle 10 circa. La sede ci offre due sale in cui potranno svolgersi due sessioni concomitanti. Per permettervi di seguire la sessione che desiderate, ma lasciarvi la possibilità di dare un’occhiata a cosa succede nell’altra sala, abbiamo creato due canali su Ustream: ecoCamp Room 1 e ecoCamp Room 2.

Cosa fare Sabato mattina se volete partecipare:

1. Effettua il login su Ustream
2. Vai sul canale di ecoCamp Room 1 http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ecocamp-room-1
3. Manda un messaggio in chat per dire che ci sei, che ci vedi e ci senti
4. Ti risponderemo e ti accrediteremo a interagire nella chat
5. Controllate il sito di ecoCamp per l’elenco delle sessioni che verranno proposte in fase di registrazione (si chiuderà entro le 11:00)
6. Deciderai a quale sessione partecipare e entrerai nella Room 1 o nella Room 2 a seconda di dove si svolgerà la tua sessione
7. La chat sarà moderata e solo gli utenti accreditati potranno interagire con i partecipanti in loco
